The Marine Corps submitted the fleet challenge entry for Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall on behalf of a project it is co-sponsoring with the Army.

The company’s current flagship vehicle is Olli, a cognitive self-driving shuttle that can be hailed on-demand using a mobile app. Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall will get to use the shuttles for approximately three months. The fleet of shuttles is expected to arrive at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall in the coming weeks after Local Motors maps the route the shuttle will use. Olli 1.0 is currently still shipping out, but it sounds like only for current customer orders. Olli 2.0 is in production now, having started in July Q4 is slated for first deliveries.

As part of Local Motors’ series of fleet challenges, Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall in Arlington, Virginia has been selected as the next location to receive Local Motors’ Olli autonomous shuttle. The specs listed on Local Motors’ Meet Olli page seem still to refer to the 1.0 model, but surely we’ll see more publicly available information soon. We believe that Olli is the answer to a safe, sustainable, and accessible mobility solution for all.
